Provera and Missed PeriodFrom: Ricki (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 13 Mar 2001 06:36:06 -0600 (CST)
Last month my RE gave me Provera to bring on a period so that I could take Clomid. I have taken Provera many times (used to take it on a monthly basis with estrogen) and I ALWAYS started my period 3 days after finishing the last pill. I took the Clomid last month and was monitored by u/s. Tech said I developed 7 follicles but all of them got stuck at 12mm. They did not draw blood to see if I had ovulated but according to my OPK I did on cd 14-15. On those days I also had some cramping and pain around my ovaries. Since the u/s showed the follicles were so small my RE prescribed Provera 10mg for 5 days so we could begin injectibles this month. I finished the Provera on March 5 and still have not started my period. My RE said it could take up to 21 days to start and will not see me until then, but I know my body and I should have started 5 days ago! So why would I not have my period after taking Provera? BTW, this is the first time I have NOT had a period after taking Provera! Thanks for any advice anyone may have. I am at my wit's end here and very anxious to start these injectibles!
