Very Worried - Sudden growth of excess body hair

I am in my early 30s and was obese. I have lost 100 pounds in the last 18 months and I am now at a normal weight. My periods are normal. The problem is that I suddenly started noticing hair follicles all over my stomach, breasts, and chest area that I never saw before. Although most of the hair is fine and light, some of it is a bit dark and I am extremely humiliated about it. My GYN did not seem to take it seriously, but he did order a testosterone test which showed that my level was on the high end of normal. He prescribed Spironolactone, but that had no effect.

Please tell me what has caused this problem and how I can correct it. I am quite desperate. Thank you.
