The website regarding BCP and hair loss = BCP and BTBFrom: Chase (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 10 Mar 2001 21:50:52 -0600 (CST)
I just checked out that website Cassidy posted regarding the effects of BCP on hair loss. I found that if you "search" for all the BCP names listed in that first website I posted in my [ATTN: Cassidy!!] message, you will be able to find a number of BCP that are either good or bad regarding break-through bleeding in addiction to their effects on hair loss. I was shocked to read all the bad stuff about Alesse as that is what I am on right now. However, I am also taking 100mg of a very good Vitamin B complex everyday, and I do not have any PMS nor any hair loss beyond the normal hair loss that comes when I blow-dry my hair everyday. My next course of action will probably be either Ortho-Cept, or some other 30mcgm estrogen BCP with a lower progestrin level, as it is pretty much a sure bet at the age of 34 a low estrogen pill like Alesse or Mircette. It does seem anti-BTB as the estrogen is what gets the uterus lining to build up, and the progestrin is what prevents it from building up. I would have thought the lower the estrogen in the BCP the less likely the chances the uterine lining builds up thus no BTB. Anyone have any thoughts about this?
