Is it dangerous for me to try to wait for my period to come naturally if I have had only 1 period since Oct. 2000 (used medroxyprogesterone in December and got one period? If it is dangerous, why? I'm just afraid my body will become dependant on the medroxyprog. and will never kick in and menstruate on it's own. I definitely don't want to have to take medroxy. for the rest of my life, I'm only 24. How does this medroxy. actually work inside my body? Is the drug just stimulating my body to make it's own progesterone or is it just providing artificial progesterone? I've had bodywork, hormone, thyroid tests done. My weight is right where it should be. I've never had this problem until I got off of the pill. It seems like my body got dependant on the hormones from the pill and got lazy in making it's own. My nurse practitioner said that there is no real test to see the levels of progesterone. That seems hard to believe. If that is the case, how does she know that I need extra progesterone? Should I just see an endocrynologist? Yahoo! Auctions - Buy the things you want at great prices.
