How can I tell if the ovary that was left after my hysterectomy has stopped working?

With the crazy weather we are having in California, not to mention the cost to heat my home, I have lowered the thermostat and added blankets to all of the beds. So I am not sure if it is hot flashes that I am having or just being over blanketed. I wake up several times at night, but my husband works out of town, so I hear everything!

I am still moody, but my TAH was a little over a month ago, so could all of these things be my left ovary shutting down, or could my hormones just adjusting into the new me?

Please advise. No matter what the advise is, I will be calling my doctor tomorrow when he is in the office.
