I have 2 post op checks normally, one at 2 weeks, at which I do not do an internal exam, and the final one at 6 weeks, at which I do. I would not do one before that time, and if I were only allowed one visit for some reason, I would delay it until 6 weeks so that I could.

You will continue to need periodic pelvic exams, but not so often as before. For example, I will see my patients one year later, and then every 2-3 years thereafter, unless they are at high risk for vaginal cancer. They still need yearly breast exams, and if the ovaries are present, they need to be checked as well.
