What will happen after you are put to sleep: they will dilate your
cervix, and use a small instrument called a hysterscope to look inside
your uterus. At this point they can also remove any tissue, or any
polyps (benign growths) they may find. After this you will be returned
to outpatient unit, and once you are able to drink liquids without
nausea, and empty your bladder, they will send you home. When I had
mine done, I went to outpatient unit about 6:30, they took me to OR
around 7:30, and I was on the way home by around 10 AM. I had a bit of
mild cramping that day, and some bleeding, but not bad.
