Kelly Shanahan, MD, : "Re: Bartholyn cyst" I have experienced 2 prg losses ( at 16wks and 20 wks )... each time I have had NO bleeding, NO spotting, NO leaking of fluids, and NO cramping ( until after my cervix is completely open and the sack is bulging ) ... For lack of a better way to describe it ... my body simply " drops the ball " .... on an otherwise healthy prg ... ( autopsys both babies show everything developed ok ) Is this an incompitent cervix ??? ... Could there be other possibilities ?? ... What signs other than bleeding/ spotting/ leaking/ cramping ( which dont occur ) should I be aware of .... How quickly can the cervix open ? For the 2nd prg I had exams / ultrasounds to check the cervix and all was ok ... I have had NO abortions / known exposure to DES.
