molar pregancy/GTD/choriocarcinomaFrom: angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 1 Mar 2001 19:22:19 -0600 (CST)
I am 21 years old and last year was diagonised of having a complete molar pregnancy in august. I had a D & C and follow up tests which confirmed it had spread to my lungs. 1 nodule measuring 1cm and 5 other small lesions of 5mm or less in diatmeter. It had not spread to my brain. I started chemotherapy using methoretrate inserted into my blood stream via my vein. I had chemotherapy from september till the end of november. I have had negative HCG tests since November the 1st and a chest xray to confirm the lungs are now clear. My question is regarding the waiting period of how long I should wait till I try to conceive again. I have been told a number of different times and would like your thoughts on this matter. I have researched alot on the internet and found 1 year seems to be a long enough wait for my case. Would you agree on a one year wait or how long would you recommended? I am currently having HCG tests on a monthly basis and would like your thoughts on this matter as soon as possible! If you require any more information please do not hesitate to contact me. Your help with this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanking you, Angie,Australia!
