Amy, The progesterone does actually cure your amenorrhea because amenorrhea is lack of a period and progesterone will cause a period. What the progesterone doesn't always correct is the cause of amenorrhea, which is usually anovulation-progesterone can however also induce ovulation. One requires at least 3-4 periods per year. If this is not occuring on its own, then the choice is either withdrawl periods with progesterone or birth control pills. Medroxyprogesterone is probably associated with the least amount of side effects of any medication I use... Lynn
