I am dealing with two problems and am not sure whether or not they are related. In June 1999 I had a normal pregnancy and delivery. My baby always kicked me right under my rib cage. After the birth, I continued to feel a bruised feeling under my rib cage. In March of 2000, I began getting persistent, somewhat severe abdominal pain and pain in the right side. Went to OB and general practitioner in July. No OB problems. Gen. Prac did sonogram for gall bladder. Came back negative. All bloodwork was fine. Gave Zantac for problems. Pain subsided somewhat. Stopped taking Zantac in Oct. Worse pain started again around Dec. Not as much in the pelvic area, but all on right side, under rib cage and right back flank. In Jan. Gen. Prac. did chest x-ray, bloodwork and urine. Prescribed Prilosec and antibiotic for UTI. Still have symptoms at the end of Feb. In addition, I have been trying to get pregnant for the past year. My period is now late (which it never is), but the home test is negative. There were no problems getting pregnant the first time. What is the problem and are they related? Could the UTI or Prilosec cause a lack of menstration?
