Is anyone doing research regarding a possible relationship of endo and liver&kidney cyst along with other edocrine disorders?sFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 23 Feb 2001 14:48:15 -0600 (CST)
I have endo and so does my Mother. My mother has been diagnosed with a large (grapefruit size or larger) liver cyst, as well as kidney cysts, an adrenal tumor/cyst and Graves disease. The fact that all these diseases seem to have some connection to the endocrine system has not escaped my attention, and I am wondering if the medical community is doing any research in this regard? My family is plagued by multiple autoimmune-type disorders, affecting male and female alike, but more common in the women, most of which have not been diagnosed, but they all seem to be related to the endocrine system. These include, endometriosis/adenomyosis; fibrocystic breasts; lupus; diabetes; chronic hematuria, not all associated with diabetes or lupus; irritable bowel syndrome; thyroid disorders, both hypo and hyper; mitral valve regurgitation, mild to severe. I have spoken to many other endo suffers with similar family histories and I am frustated beyond all limits that I keep reading from the medical community information that suggests we are not plagued with autoimmune disorders or family histories of them. Any information would be appreciated.
