There are procedures where attempts are made to open an obstructed tube using small catheters and balloons similar to that done with vessels. If the obstruction is near the end of the tube, a tuboplasty can be performed in an attempt to salvage the tube. None of these have met with much success. The problem with hydrosalpinx is that there is usually tubal damage as a result of the tube being filled with fluid and distended... Lynn
