possible complication due to hysterosalpingogram?From: shan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 21 Feb 2001 17:05:05 -0600 (CST)
I had a hysterosalpingogram done a month ago and right after the procedure, I had both a bacterial and bladder infection. I was treated for the bacterial infection but the urine test first came out negative on the bladder infection until I ended up in the emergency room with horrible pain. I was subsequenly treated for the bladder infection with 10-days worth of Cipro. But now 2 weeks after the treatment, I feel that the bladder infection is back. I have the burning sensation in the urine tract and went in for another urine test which came back negative again. I fear that it's another infection that'll have to wait until I'm in horrible pain before it'll show positive. I feel spasm in the urinary tract and cramps in the lower abdominal area and it seems to be worst after intercourse. My mind keep going back to the HSG test because I've never had bladder infections before this and definetely not spasm and cramps in the lower abdominal area. Any advise, or ideas what I'm dealing with and if the HSG could have triggered something?
