Phentermine-warnings and internet salesFrom: Leigh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 21 Feb 2001 16:59:51 -0600 (CST)
I have two questions concerning phentermine. I am 32 in good but previously had a history of eating disorder and MVP. I am and have been clear of MVP for 7+ years now. My vavle is a bit lazy but no blood backs up. About 5 years ago when I was I went to a Phys. because I was in College and working and havim=ng abit of trouble w/ my weight or with a stress?eat cycle. I would not say heavy binging but wating due to stress. He prescribed Adipex and fenfluramine or the Phen-fen combo. He knew of my previous heart trouble but knew I was clear of MVP. I quit taking both substances after two weeks due to media warning about the two meds. However I continued to take the Adipex/Phentermine and found it was very helpful. Is this still a safe drug if taken short term? I am interested in taking it again. Should I ask my doctor? Now my second question, I have found you can order Phentermine over the internet and find that very strange. Is this a legitimate practice. Is this legal and safe? How can people essentually "prescribe" themselves medication that is prescription only? Note. I also have Hypo-thyroidism and take 1.00 mc of Synthroid. Is this a problem w/ Phentermine? Thanks, Leigh Ann
