Zolodex and premenopause

I am 40 years old. I have received neoadjuvent chemotherapy, have had a mastectomy and now am receiving a milder chemotherapy. My doctor wants me to begin Tamoxifen immediately. She does not want me to have a period so I will receive injections of Zolodex. Is this common for pre-menopausal women? What are the side effects? How long will I have to have injections? Is there anyone who is undergoing this treatment that I can connect with? Ann
