For what it's worth, here are three other observations I've made. I don't have scientific proof that making these changes will help relieve recurrent BV, but they might be worth a try temporarily.

If you wear thongs every day, try cutting down to wearing them less often. I noticed that my clients who were exotic dancers (who wear thongs at work) seem to have more BV than other women.

If you're using antibacterial soap in the shower, avoid using it on the hairless parts of your genitals. Even though it might sound like killing bacteria would help BV, you need to have the "good" bacteria living in your vagina. I noticed that women who are fanatical about cleaning and disinfecting their genitals seem to get BV more often. Just use mild soap (for example, Dove, Ivory) on the genital area.

Lastly, if you're using bath and shower gels, or strong smelling soaps, avoid using them on the hairless parts of your genitals. Of the last ten clients I had with BV, nine of them were using great-smelling shower gel from the mall. As above, try mild soap on the genital area.

And here's a theoretical idea -- avoid sanitary products that contain baking soda. It just doesn't make physiologic sense to put baking soda near your vagina.

Good luck. I know this problem can be very frustrating.
