DoxicyclineFrom: BJ (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 18 Feb 2001 00:58:30 -0600 (CST)
I'm just curious about this. I first started having sex a year and a half ago(i'm still with the same guy)and it was incredibly painful. I expected it to be painful for a while, but not 6 months. About a year ago i got really bad pains in my sides and vagina and had burning when i peed. I assumed it was a UTI since i'm used to them. When i went to the doctor, she told me she thought i had Pelvic Inflamatory Disease, an STD. She gave my doxicycline and sent my pap/culture to the lab. The test results came back negative and she said it was just a really bad UTI, and i could stop taking my meds. I had already taken them for 10 days and no sex in those ten days. We started having sex that day. Sex was never enjoyable for me because it was always hurting and very tight. Suddenly right after taking this medicine, it didn't hurt at all. It went from so much pain i was crying to being the best feeling in the world. I was tested for other STD's and came up negative on everything. I was just wondering if and why the medicine made it stop hurting.
