Fetal Demise at 23 weeksFrom: Becky (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 17 Feb 2001 18:56:11 -0600 (CST)
I had a picture perfect pregnancy. Everything was fine, at my 1st ultrasound we saw the baby moving around, kicking & streching. Then exactly one month later we went back for another b/c we wanted to know the sex and the baby had past. I never felt the baby kick and the Dr's don't know how long the baby had been gone. My husband and I are very concerned about getting pregnant again and this happening all over again! The only answer our Dr. gave us was that the baby did lots of flips and never flipped back the other way to untwist himself. When I had him the imbelical cord didn't look like it had developed right. It was normal then would go paper thin then normal, etc. Do you have any other ideas what could have caused this? I am only 23 and have no health problems. What are the chances of this happening to us again?? Thank you in advance for helping me, we have no one to talk to as this has not happened to anyone we know this far along in a pregnancy!
