I have had some changes in my period, they have become irregular, as soon as two weeks apart, and as far apart as eight weeks. My flow has changed, from heavy on the first two days and spotting on the third and fourth, to very heavy the first two days and light spotting for an additional 6-10 days. I have also started passing large and frequent clots - even when the flow has slowed to spotting. I have had clots in the past - but not the size and frequency I am experiencing now. During my last period, on the first day I passed several large clots, and than bled so heavily that I could feel it gushing. I am 41 years old, and have expressed these concerns to my my family physican, who did a exam and pap smear which came back normal. She did not seem to be concerned, should I?
