Heavy Bleeding...should I worry?From: pc807 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 15 Feb 2001 11:29:18 -0600 (CST)
I am 41 years old and had taken birth control pills for many, many years until October of 1999. I stopped because I was diagnosed with fibroids and was afraid that the estrogen would cause them to grow. My periods have become more heavy and last seven days (they have always been about that long). My concern is that this past month, my period lasted for two weeks, some days heavy and some light. I'm thinking that I will wait to see how next month grows, but reading some previous posts led me to believe that over 40 I should worry about cancer. My last pap was June of 2000. Should I call the doctor now?
