The most likely problem is that you are not ovulating on a regular basis. Whether or not this represents polycystic ovaries or not depends upon the evaluation. I would suggest you discuss these issues with your physician at the upcoming visit. If you have been trying to achieve pregnancy for 5 years, you need an evaluation and what ever assistance is required in the pursuit. If pregnancy is not an option, then you simply need to be cycled on hormones like the pill. Your physician can also provide testing to assure that you do not have premature ovarian failure... Lynn
