unsuceeful attempts to obtain biopsy tissueFrom: Alice (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 13 Feb 2001 18:39:06 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid close to one year ago. My doctor placed my on a daily dosage of 500mg Vitamin C taken with 150mg polysaccharide iron. I am still experiencing heavy bleeding during the first two or three days of my period as well as occasional spotting between periods. When I was first diagnosed he attempted to obtain a tissue sample of the fibroid for a biopsy. The attempt was unsuccessful. He followed with an untrasound after which he only told me that I did have a fibroid. I was also amemic. I had another exam this week and a second attempt to obtain a biopsy was unsuccessful. The tissue sample taken consisted only of blood. He plans on following with another ultrasound to determine the thickness of the fibroid. Should I consider any deviations from this plan of treatment?
