?for MD. Re cyst on ultrasoundFrom: susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 9 Feb 2001 17:59:11 -0600 (CST)
I had an ultrasound for what my gyn thought was a fibroid--I am overweight so it is difficult to palpate--. The US showed a probable ovarian cyst on my right ovary. It is rather large 9.3X8.8 cm. There was no fluid in the cul-de-sac. The Ca-125 and 2 other tumor markers were not indicative of malignancy. The cyst is noted on US to be septated. I am trying to find out what that could possibly mean. I am scheduled for laporatory for removal of the mass in the coming week. I have discussed the possiblities with my dr. ranging from a simple removal of the cyst to an oopherectemy to hysterectomy. He also mentioned the possibility of an endometrioma. Thanks for your input.
