Kristy: Because of the type of work I do (medical records analyst for a surgical center), I would think that "vaginal biopsy" is a broad term to cover the area(s) being biopsied. I know that our consent for an EGD would say "EGD with possible biopsies/dilation" meaning that while the doc is doing the actual EGD he or she may biopsy one or several areas and also if there is a stricture of the esophagus it could be dilated so that food would be easier to swallow. So, I would guess that in your case, "vaginal biopsy" could cover another area of the vagina,if your doctor saw anything suspicious the area of biopsy would not only be the vulva but the other area(s) as well. That way you wouldn't have to sign another consent for a specific area. Did I make any sense here?? Hope so!

Take Care,
