Thermostat in overdrive!

For the past 2 1/2 years, I have had my "thermostat" on high and can't turn it off. These are not hot flashes. I am hot from head to toe, and at night in bed, I feel like an electric blanket that I can't turn off. If I get out from under the covers, I'm cold. I am not running a fever. I am irritable, I can't sleep, I'm losing hair, I can't seem to concentrate, and I have a thick discharge and spotting between cycles. My OB/GYN has tested my hormone levels, and he says they are fine. He changed my pill. It worked for a while with the mentrual irregularities, but now I'm having the same problems. It never did anything for the "thermostat." I have been seeing an endocrinologist now for a year, and he can't seem to figure out what's causing the problems. I had sinus surgery a few months ago. For the first week after the surgery, most of the symptoms dissappeared, including the "thermostat." I have no idea what to do? I'm losing my patience and perhaps my mind. Any ideas?

Thank you for any help. Angela
