I have had left above waist back pain for over a year. I also am having constant dull lower left and near navel abdominal pain. I have been told it was just muscle pain. I recently changed doctor's and due to the majority of my symptoms being related to ovarian cancer she did an early pap test. All blood tests and pap test came back ok. She also scheduled a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound. During the ultrasounds the technician asked me if I had ever had surgery to have an ovary moved. No..I have never had any type of female problems. She also felt a "fullness" in the left abdominal area near the naval. I am in near constant pain with a dull aching pain in the area of where my ovary should be and feel like a tight knot in the area of the naval. I have three weeks to wait now, but I just am totally confused as to where my left ovary could be? I have severe constipation with the IBS and alot of pain in that area when straining. I am also gaining a pound a week since June and gone up 5 sizes due to abdominal weight gain. What are some of the reasons why an ovary dissappears? I have had no female surgery other than a tubal over 20 yrs. ago. Any informaiton would really be appreciated.
