Can anesthesia affect fetus?From: Donna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Jan 2001 20:19:48 -0600 (CST)
My husband had anesthesia today for a wisdom tooth pulled, he was completely asleep by a needle in his arm (no idea what they gave him). But, my question is, we have been ttc for awhile, and this afternoon he felt well enough to have sex (the only time this month), 6 hours after being put to sleep. If I did get pregnant today (I ovulated a few hours after sex) will there be any chance of my fetus being affected or deformed? I am going to worry the whole 9 months if this is my month. This is the first time we were able to have sex this close to ovulation, so I think this will be my month. Any ideas? Do any drugs the male takes affect the fetus? Donna
