Do I need hysterectomy/removal of remaining ovary? In my mid to late 20s I had 2 laparotomies to remove ovarian cysts/right ovary. I was diagnosed with Stage IV endo. I have always had regular cycles, no heavy bleeding, very minor pain. Ultrasound shows fibroid and large cyst on remaining (left) ovary. Doctor says cyst has been there (same size) since 1987. Ovary is also covered with endo. She now recommends hyst with removal of ovary, tube and cervix. Since the endo/cyst does not really bother me, how necessary is the hyst?
