Hi Tina:

I'm sure the docs will answer but a blood glucose test should be normal (upper limit 110) after an 8 hour fast (overnight) Actually, your blood sugar should be normal 2 hours after eating.(assuming you don't eat again) This is the basis of the "2 hour post prandial test". I would think he would want to know if you were diabetic *before* you have major surgery.
