Vaginal Irritation around ovulationFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Jan 2001 14:50:54 -0600 (CST)
I have been experiencing recurring vaginal irritation for the past 7 months. The irritation usually starts around day 10 of my cycle and lasts for about a week. I've been to the doctor several times and all of my cultures for infections have been coming back negative (although they have treated me with antibiotics, vaginal yeast medications, and Diflucan). I have had an abnormal pap recently. Could the abnormal pap have something to do with the irritation? Also, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 7 mos. now with no success. We've recently started to see an infertility specialist because I'm over 35 and had a miscarriage last spring. Could the irritation at this time of the month be hormonal? I'm really not sure what to do about this anymore. The time of the month when my husband and I should be trying to conceive is when I'm experiencing the irritation!! It's less than enjoyable and becoming very frustrating. Your reply is greatly appreciated!!
