hyperplasia

I have be dx'd with simple hyperplasia after seeing the doc for heavy periods which would last for 8 or 9 days. (my 'normal' period for yrs was 5 days) I had an ultrasound done which showed normal, but the doc did a biopsy in her office and said it was simple hyperplasia. Question is, I was put on provera for the past two months. I was told this would stop my bleeding completely and that after a 3 month period I would stop the provera and have a heavy period which would be like a medical D&C. I took the med for 2 months and have bled heavily the entire time except for 2 or 3 days in the beginning. I finally said no more med and came off of it 3 days ago. Since then the bleeding has been steadily slowing down, although it's now like a normal period, but continuous. My doc now wants to do a regular d & c but tells me there are no guarantees. She also suggested hyster. I have almost decided on the hyster, b/c I don't want to keep doing the bleeding, I'm weak most o fthe time and can't work b/c of it. However, now that I've agreed to the hyster, the doc seems to think I should do the d & c first, although she has up to this point pushed the hyster. NOw I'm so confused I don't know what to do. Any input or suggestions appreciated. Also, should the doc have allowed me to go 2 months of bleeding heavily without doing anything? I basically took myself off the provera. I'm 41 my tubes have been tied for 17 yrs. thanks and sorry it was such a long post. D
