Re: painful lumps on labia

I am a bit relieved to find that other people suffer terrible lumps around the time of their period. I was beginning to think I was the only one. Since my second son was born 9 years ago, I have suffered from the onset of lumps through my groin area and sometimes my buttocks around the time of my period. Most of the time they are the size of walnuts and I go to the clinic to have them lanced when I can't stand the pain and the swelling anymore. Other times they are smaller and disappear about a week after my period. I had surgery last year as the Doctor suggested they were caused by ingrown hair, and he took large sections of skin from my groin area. I was lump free for about 10 months and now they have come back with a vengeance. Does anyone know what is causing this and what can be done? More surgery was suggested if they came back, but I really would rather not go that route if I can help it.
