Hi Zoe,

Sorry to hear of the diagnosis. Hopefully having the endo cauterized will help you for a time.

There are many pills out there and some work well for one but not for another. Your best bet, and probably the choice your surgeon will go with is a low dose combination pill. I took Alesse, and loved it. I had to stop due to blood clots from something unrelated, but while I was on it, felt great!

You mention that you have a strong family history of breast cancer. Make sure your Dr. knows of this, and knows where the breast cancer is in the family. You are at much greater risk if you have a first degree relative (Mother, Sister) with Breast CA. If it is your Mom or your Sister, you might want to go another route (I have a cousin whose Mother and two sisters died from Breast CA....she won't take OCP's or anything else, for obvious reasons).
