I have had three laps and never had a pelvic exam at my first post op appointment (I cringe at the thought). Basically, the Dr. will go over the surgery (operative report, pathology report), talk to you about how you are doing, etc., and look at your incisions. The Dr. may have you make a follow up appointment for a month or so later for another exam, which at that time would include the pelvic exam.
