Multiple Ovarian CystsFrom: Kat (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 Jan 2001 23:07:28 -0600 (CST)
Brief history....I had a hysterectomy 10 months ago for uterine prolapse, heavy and irregular menstrual bleeding, mild endometriosis and adenomyosis. Fortunately, I was able to retain my right ovary. It may or may not be significant to mention that I had two small calcifications near (or on?) my left ovary, which were removed at the time of surgery. I have also had one C-section, two VBAC's and abdominal surgery for torn ligaments/muscles. I recently began experiencing pain in my right lower abdominal region along with spotting following intercourse. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound which revealed three ovarian cysts measuring 4.1cm, 2.2cm, and 1.4cm. Additionally, the 4.1cm cyst contained a single septation down the middle. When I inquired as to the nature of the cysts, my doctor stated that I would have to "wait and see" and was told to return for a repeat ultrasound in two months. I've tried to research this information on the internet but can't seem to find anything for my particular situation. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
