Abdominal pain after menstruationFrom: Veronica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 21 Jan 2001 04:41:50 -0600 (CST)
For over a year I've had pain in my lower right abdomin after my cyle. I have very mild pain when my period starts, but progressively gets worse *after* my period ends and continues for the next 4 days. It is a very sharp, stabbing pain when there is any pressure - such as coughing, sneezing, sleeping on it, etc and stays very sore afterwards. When I sneeze, for example, it make me double over in pain, but then it just remains very sore. It is always in the same place, I know when the pain will begin and when it will end. Problem is, I've seen my gynecologist twice and he performed pelvic exams and found nothing. He referred me to a general surgeon and suggested I have a laparoscopy. I did this last week and nothing was found. Something has to be causing this pain every month. What could my next course of action be? Any clues as to what this mysterious pain could be?
