Hello, My name is Dayna. I am 30 years old and had my tubes tied at a very young age (18). The reason I had them tied so young is because I was talked into by my Aunt and Uncle who I had lived with for 4 years. I became pregnant at the age of 16 and kept my son. I then became pregnant twice after that. On the last 2 I was taken in for abortions. After that second abortion, My Aunt and Uncle talked with the doctor and then they all talked with me about having my tubes tied to keep from getting pregnant again. Now let me explain, that the doctor was very much against this and would have sided with me in not doing it. But, since I was living with my aunt and uncle and they were supporting my and my son at the time. I felt I had no choice but to do as they asked. So... I did. Within a month, my tubes were tied. The operation was done in a hospital, at the time the doctor called it a laser procedure. I guess, what my post boils down to is this, I have never heard of Post Tubal Syndrome until learning of it through a friend who gave me your website address. Does it effect the menstrual period? And if so, how? Does it cause major cramps? The reason for the last question about cramps is because before my tubes were tied, I hadn't had a problem, sure I would cramp, but nothing like to what I have since. The cramps started about 4 months after I had my tubes tied and have landed me in the emergency room hundreds of times over the past 12 years. The pain has even been so intense that I would just buckle over where I stood and scream or just pass out altogether. And this still continues to this day. I have seen a doctor over and over again, but he just gives me 800mg or more of motron and tells me I'll be fine. I have even taken as many as 14 Midol at one time to try and relieve the pain, but all it does is knock me out for a couple of hours and when I wake the pain is back. The cramping is not my only problem every month. I also become very lightheaded, dizzy and very disoriented; one second I'm burning up and the next I'm freezing all the while sweating like a stuck pig and I throw up. The flow is unbelievable. I go through 5 pads in the course of 1 hour fully soaking the pad bad enough to leak through and this will go on through the full length of my period. I pass blood clots . But still the doctor tells me, that this is normal. I have talked with my friends and family but none of them experience the extent of what I do. Could this be Post Tubal Syndrome, or is it just the way my body works? Thank you for your time, Dayna
