I have been on Ortho-Cyclen for almost four years now. Within the past year I have developed a pain in my left side. My Dr. had an internal ultrasound done in August that turned out to be normal. I am still having the pains and they are coming more frequently now than before, also my period has all but come to a stop- I'm lucky if I menstruate for a full day when I get my period. The Dr. tells me that there's nothing to worry about that this usually happens after being on the birth control for an extended period of time, does this sound right? I also have a family history, on my mother side of blood clots, my maternal grandmother died of clot that hit her brain and my mother has had 6 heart attacks all attributed to blood clots, should I be concerned about my Dr.'s advice?
