I just went to the bathrrom and when I straighten the string out it is now at about 1.5-2 inches long. I am starting to bleed and my back and uterus are hurting. I am wondering if my IUD is coming out? I just ended my period last Friday an it all started during my cycle. I also had intercours on Saturday does that mean I could have been fertile? I was on day 12 on Sat and that is normally when i ovulate.

If it comes out and the bleeding picks up is there any need to phone my doctor?

The best way to answer your questions is to go to your md. I think that is indicated here. If not coming out, you are ok, if so, he will decide if it is better to remove and reinsert or to try to push that one back up into the uterus. Hope this helps.
