Endometrial Ablation - C section QuestionFrom: Stephanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 7 Jan 2001 00:11:05 -0600 (CST)
I am getting ready to go to the Dr. with my all of my options: First off, I started my period at age 9. It stopped for 2 years and started again when I was 11. I have had "normal" periods since, if you can call normal every few months, etc. One pregnancy, I had a C-Section in 1991, no baby's since nor in the future. In late 1999 I got an IUD (High BP=no birth control pills)and have noticed an extreme increase in my periods. I use to go through 1/2 box (10) "thin" tampons and my periods would last 3-4 days. I am now at a box and a half+ for 5-7 days. I have been reading about Ablation because I want all my options before me and my dr. appt. So the question is: Can you have an ablation if you have had a C Section? The only other thing i can think of option wise (pregnancy prevention as well) is removal of the IUD and Depo Shots, though I'm not too fond of what i'm reading about Depo. I've totally ruled out a Tubal due to being extremly scared of general anesthesia. Anyway, if you have an answer for me I would appreciate it. Thanks for your time. Stephanie
