Septum, Baby died at 8 1/2 months pregnantFrom: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 3 Jan 2001 16:22:09 -0600 (CST)
I have a septum, although I haven't had a HSG yet to determine the severity, we do know it is there. I have had a healthy full-term baby 2 years ago. After dull mild cramping and not feeling the baby move I went to the hospital to discover no heartbeat. My last OB appointment was 6 days prior with a strong heartbeat. The OB however said that the baby was measuring small. During my 20 week ultrasound the technician discoverd that part of my placenta was attached to the septum. I do know that a septum is avascular and would like to know if at my 33 week appointment when there was a red-flag of my baby measuring small if there was anything that could have been done, ie; ultrasound to detect the possible placenta separating (which is what the OB said caused the babies death) or a doppler reading to determine if there was correct blood flow? I am grieving and looking for answers to help settle my thoughts.
