Sorry, guess I didn't make myself clear. It was explained to me by my current physician that Lupron is safe for women to take for six months at a time....with up to 3 courses in a lifetime (totally 18 injections). I was also told that if I were to opt to use it for a second course add-back therapy would also have to be used, therefore it would not be as effective as the first time around. I guess this is why there is so much confusion regarding these injections...physicians can't even agree on what is safe. It has been my experience that each physician I talk to have a different opinion and Lupron wasn't the treatment for me. Although it has helped many women, it DID NOT help me. I ended the treatment frustrated because I was told this was a great drug and I would my symptom free for at least two years. With the research I have done on my own and information I have recieved from my physician & second opinion this is my understanding of this medication. Sorry for the confusion I caused earlier and I hope it is very effective for you and your symptoms!
