nausea, stomach painFrom: Elicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Dec 2000 19:58:50 -0600 (CST)
I am a 45 year old female. Had my gall baldder removed in Feb 2000. I was suffering from nausea and low stomach pains. Since then I have been even more nauseous and extreme pain in my upper abdomen (around the pancreas). I have had GI series, Scope, ulta sounds, xrays and blood tests. You name it I've been through it. My amylase is sometimes elevated but my physician doesn't think enough to mean anything serious. Could I have post cholecystectomy syndrome? I am currently taking cholestyramine, vicodin, dicyclomine, and acephix. I still have pain attacks in the night time more than the day hours. It usually wakes me in the early morning hours. When the pain is real bad I take phenergan. Don't know that it really helps the pain but at least I can sleep! Will I have to deal with this the rest of my life? The pain and nausea are making me crazy. Is there no way to be more comfortable on a regular basis without all the meds? I just want to be able to function on a daily basis without hurting or being ill. (so far my boss has been helpful regarding all the work I've been missing, but I don't know how much longer this can go before my job is in jepordy.) Any suggestions?????
