Bleeding all the time--any ideas?From: liz (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Dec 2000 17:56:17 -0600 (CST)
I have had abnormal periods since I was 11 years old. I have tried six different birth control pills, then a 10 day cycle each month of provera. None of these stopped the bleeding for more than a few months. I have had hormone testing, which came back normal. I have been tested for blood disorders, and I have none. I have had two ultrasounds, one on the outside, one vaginal, neither of which showed anything that would cause the bleeding problems I have had though they did show that I have a bicornuate uterus (which amazed my doctor because I got pregnant on the pill and carried my son full term), and calcification that looks like it might, one day, be a fibroid (which was no surprise to me since 3 generations in my family before me have had fibroids. I have had an endometrial biopsy, which came back normal. Why am I bleeding, and how many more tests will I hae to have before I can just have a hysterectomy? I bleed almost constantly, and it is ruining my life, my clothes, and my relationship with my (very easily nauseated) husband. Any advice would be great. Thanks, and Happy New Year!!!
