Is Pneumonia contageous?

This is not exactly a women's health question but one I am concerned about after yesterday. I took my daughter to see her great grandmother who is failing quickly. She lives at home with my grandfather. I did not know prior to arriving but my grnamother was coughing badly and was treated recently for pneumonia and is now not taking her meds so she again (we think) has the pneumonia. My grandmother did not kiss her but my 2 yr old climbed up and down on her lap and all over her exchanging stuffed animals. Afterwards I washed my daughters hands but still concerned. I know its a little late now to worry but I just want to be on the lookout if its contageous.

Thanks

J
