lesions, not hpv, abnormal pap

Hi--

about two years ago, I had an abnormal pap result with ASCUS but no HPV changes. It said to come back in 6 months, I waited a year. Then when the doctor examined me he said he wasn't even going to wait for the results and was sending me right to colposcopy. So by the time I got to colposcopy, the results came back from that pap and it was normal. So they decided not to do the colpo and said do another pap in three months. Next pap was abnormal again, same ASCUS, etc. They again said wait six months for another pap. Ok, then did another pap, which came out normal. Meanwhile, I've had several polyp-type lesions removed (from the vulva area). Now I'm having extreme pain around the opening of my vagina, with four or five grape-like lesions, which are excrutiatingly painful. So I went to the doc again, she examined me and couldn't do a full exam since it was so painful. But when she tried to examine my cervix, she said it "crumbled" and was extremely "friable." I've had tons of test for stds, which have all come out negative, and it's been 8 years since last sexual activity. So...needless to say I'm a bit worried. I'm going to gynecology next week, but I'm trying to prepare myself for what this might be. It's so painful that it hurts to sit sometimes. I have also had ovarian cancer (early stage) in 1996. I'd love to have some advice or assurances from the docs on this site. I'm worried.

By the way, I'm only 27.

thanks, Sarah
