The discharge that is whitish is likely a combination of cervical mucous and maybe some reactive discharge containing white blood cells and cellular debris and certainly some small amounts of bacterial matter-all of this only microscopically visible. The amount of normal vaginal discharge varies significantly from person to person, as well as the time of the cycle in the same person. Some women have no significant discharge, while others require a panty liner at all times. The main thing to consider when gauging normal versus abnormal is that it shouldn't be malodorous or irritative. If it is neither, then it is probably normal... Lynn
