Heather, There are several possibilities for pain in the left side, associated with orgasm. The first is one I have described before. In all women, the uterus contracts with orgasm. Sometimes, these contractions can be painful. I have had patients try taking a couple of Aleve tablets about an hour before being sexually active. The ibuprofens tend to limit uterine contractions and this can kinda sort things out. Another possibility is bowel. If you are prone to irritable bowel or "reactive bowel" where you get changes in bowel habits during times of stress or pressure, then your bowel might also be sensitive to the tension within your body during sexual excitement and may result in bowel spasms. Finally, if you did have a cyst on the left ovary, depending upon the kind, it could cause symptoms as well... Lynn
