Bacterial Infections etc.

Okay, here goes...about a year ago, I attempted to take the pill (had a a through exam at that time - normal pap etc)as I had a sexual partner and wanted to prevent pregnancy. I've always been prone to yeast infections, and promptly got one about two days after taking the first pills. I used an over the counter to clear it up, and continued taking the pills for about one month. I spotted throughout the entire month, and my partner and I figured it wasnt' worth it and decided to use condoms. We always use a condom except for the very slow days during my period (and that's rare). Throughout the year, I had another two yeast infections (or so I thought), and treated them with over the counter brands. EAch time it appeared to clear up. Over the course of the year, I noticed a heavier discharge sometimes, and an odor when I stressed excessively, or sweated a lot. Not everyday, but definitely when nervous, stressed, or sweaty. Definitely odor to the point that I could smell it without pulling down my pants or getting near my genital area. Nothing that seemed alarming - just thought my body was changing and I was developing a different body or genital odor (I am 29). In the last four months or so, it's gotten consistently worse, and I went to the ob-gyn in early november. Bacterial infection. I've basically been there every week since, and have been on an anitbiotic of some sort every day since except for the 12 days of my period (twice over that cycle). I've taken Flagyl for five days, then a dose of ten days combined with metro inserted vaginally (I developed a yeast infection right after the frist dose of antibiotic), then clindimycin for seven days, and I am about to start another seven of that. My ob-gyn confirmed the BV and the yeast and did cultures. Performed internals each time, and says all feels normal. Each time I take an antibiotic, it clears up 95%, but I can still see some discharge, and the smell comes back almost immediately after stoppng the antibiotic. I have no itching, redness, or pain, except for some odds and ends. Sometimes when I have a bowel movement, I feel pressure in my ovaries, (or what seems like my ovaries), and there is a very heavy mucous discharge when I wipe (front to back). It seems to be vaginally, but I can not be positive, as it's so excessive. Sometimes I feel crampy, when I don't have my period, it's never particularly painful, but I just feel it. Almost like I am just about to start the heavy bleeding of my period. My partner has taken oral flagyl as a precaution, and we are only using condoms at this time to prevent passing it. I finished my dose of clindymycin last wednesday night, got my period thursday am, lasted until monday-ish, and today I feel particularly crampy, and I start the next dose of clindymycin tonight (I spoke to the ob-gyn and he refilled since that seemed to have the best effect on it so far). The discharge is significantly less, but I can still see some of the clear, mucousy stuff and it still smells slightly. I'm about at wits end - I'm concerned about endo (whats with the pressure/pain during bowel movements, and the crampy feeling?), infertility, and having these continual BV infections. My poor boyfriend - I have very little desire to have sex, because I feel gross, and I am afraid that it will come back, or that he will smell it. I always wash first, but the condoms seem to make the odor more prevalent. Is the pain, crampy feeling part of the BV? Should I press this issue to my ob-gyn more - basically I explain the crampy feeling to him, but since it's not really pain, I suppose I might sort of shrug it off...? Could the BV have extended up into my ovaries from having it so long?, or into the uterus? My periods are basically normal, start slow, heavy for a day or two, slows down, lasts a total of 5-6 days. Moderate crampy feelings on the first heavy day, usually a dose of ibuprofen takes care of that quickly. Where do I go from here? What happens if the lastest dose of anitbiotics doesn't clear it up? Should I be insisting on other tests? I believe that I heard that endo can't be diagnosed in an exam. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, could I be overlooking pain that I only consider moderalely annoying? I've had no other symptoms that seem odd, except that for a while I was very achey, particularly stiff necks, which I contribute to my hating the waterbed we sleep in. That's gotten better, so I think it was related to getting used to the bed. I don't take any other drugs, I am hypoglycemic (doc said that doesn't matter, it's the overgrowth related to sugar being too high, not too low that should concern us), I am of normal weight, excercise regularly. I take a multi vitamin, and Twin Labs Diet Fuel once a day, and glucosamin and condroitisn (sorry, spelling bad). Don't smoke, social drinks (1-2) on weekends. Arrrggghhh!!!! Help!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I figured that complete background might make it easier. Any input or thoguhts welcomed.

Thanks. a
